Public Beaches and Bathing Areas

The Environmental Health Division licenses and inspects public beaches and bathing areas to ensure that they are in compliance with health and safety requirements that protect the public from potential health risks associated with swimming in recreational waters.

In addition to conducting inspections, the Environmental Division samples public bathing areas annually to test for total coliform and E. Coli bacteria.
