School Inspection Program
The Environmental Division conducts inspections of local schools in Huron County to protect school children and staff by identifying and eliminating health and safety hazards. Inspections are performed for all public and nonpublic (private) schools.
Schools buildings and the surrounding grounds (including playgrounds) are all inspected for hazards that could pose a threat to the students and public health.
The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services is responsible for licensing child care providers, which include pre-schools, daycares, and child care facilities. Visit their website to learn more about the program.
School Food Service Inspections
The Environmental Division also inspects the school cafeteria and concessions stands that serve food for athletic events. Read a full report of these inspections!
